To help them fulfill their potential.<\/p>\n<p>Across 190 countries and territories, we work for every child, everywhere, every day, to build a better world for everyone.<\/p>\n<p>And we never give up.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For every child,\u00a0Hope<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Chief Planning &amp; Monitoring will ensure that the UNICEF Ethiopia Country Office has useful, valid and reliable information on the\u00a0 situation of children\u2019s and women\u2019s rights in Ethiopia and the performance of UNICEF-supported programmes. This will include programme relevance, efficiency, effectiveness, and sustainability, and in emergency contexts, their coverage, coordination and coherence. The Chief will\u00a0work within the UN country team (UNCT) to support their goals for delivering valid and reliable information on the attainment of the SDGs and other goals, and on the performance of UN-supported programmes. They will also\u00a0assist in the establishment of monitoring an evaluation tools to enhance partnership between the UNCT, government and other key players to collectively track progress on SDGs and other international commitment for children.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How can you make a difference?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Integrated Monitoring, Evaluation &amp; Research Plan (IMEP) &#8211;\u00a0Ensure that the Country Office and national partners use a well-prioritised and realistic plan of research, monitoring and evaluation activities that will provide the most relevant and strategic information to manage the Country Programme, including tracking and assessing\u00a0 UNICEF\u2019s distinct contribution.<\/li>\n<li>Situation Monitoring and Assessment &#8211;\u00a0Ensure that the Country Office and national partners have timely and accurate measurement of change in conditions in the country or region, including monitoring of socio-economic trends and the country\u2019s wider policy, economic or institutional context, to facilitate planning and to draw conclusions about the impact of programmes or policies.<\/li>\n<li>Programme Performance Monitoring\u00a0&#8211;\u00a0Ensure that the Country Office has quality information to assess progress towards expected results established in annual work plans.<\/li>\n<li>Evaluation\u00a0&#8211;\u00a0Ensure that UNICEF-supported evaluations are designed and implemented to established UN quality standards, and the results are disseminated in a timely fashion to stakeholders in order to improve programme performance and contribute to wider learning.<\/li>\n<li>M&amp;E Capacity Building\u00a0&#8211;\u00a0Ensure that the monitoring and evaluation capacities of Country Office staff and national partners \u2013 government and civil society \u2013 are strengthened enabling them to increasingly engage in and lead monitoring and evaluation processes.<\/li>\n<li>Coordination and Networking &#8211;\u00a0Ensure that the UNICEF office is effectively linked to wider UNICEF M&amp;E developments in a way that both contributes to and benefits from organizational learning on effective M&amp;E management.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>To\u00a0qualify as an advocate for every child you will have\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Advanced university degree in social sciences, statistics, planning development, planning.<\/li>\n<li>A first University Degree in a relevant field combined with 2 additional years of professional experience may be accepted in lieu of an Advanced University Degree.<\/li>\n<li>Professional work experience in programme development and implementation including monitoring and evaluation activities as follows:A minimum of\u00a0eight (8) years of relevant professional work experience, including developing country work experience, is required.<\/li>\n<li>At least one (1) instance of exposure to emergency programming, including preparedness planning. Active involvement in a humanitarian crisis response programme preferred<\/li>\n<li>Fluency in English is required.
