Job Description
The Country Coordinating Mechanism of Ethiopia for the Global Fund (CCM/E) is a stand-alone mechanism composed of key stakeholders in Ethiopia’s response to the three diseases (TB, HIV, and malaria). CCM/E is responsible for the development and submission of funding requests to the Global Fund, nominating Principal Recipients (PRs) and monitoring their performance, overseeing grant implementation, and endorsing any program’s revision request.
We are looking for a skilled website developer who will be responsible for developing and/or designing user friendly website for our organization. S/he will be working alongside our staff in creating, maintaining, and updating our website. S/he will report to the Executive Secretary of CCM/E Secretariat.
This is, therefore, CCM/E invites interested individuals, with the experience of website development to overtake the following responsibilities.
Functional Responsibilities
- Responsible for the overall development process of websites and ensures that all work contributed is in line with functional specifications.
- Designing user interactions and building the front-end of the CCM/E public site through appealing visual and responsive technical design.
- Review documents and meet regularly with CCM/E Secretariat staff and management to understand and refine business and functional requirements and determine project scopes and specifications
- Perform UI designs and coding, creating reusable objects and templates, wireframes for web pages and email templates; manage maintenance, updates, expansions, and scaling of each design
- Develop and manage well-functioning databases, web servers, applications, and other IT elements required for the effective functioning of the developed and maintained websites.
- Write technical documentation as required.
- Work quickly and carefully to complete small edits requested by users, develop plans for completing larger projects, collaborate with colleagues, and suggest new solutions to improve existing websites
- S/he can guarantee to support CCM/E for at least 1 – 2 years for any issues related with the website
- Perform any other relevant activities as assigned by the Executive Secretary of CCM/E.
Deliverables
- Organizational web-based system and website with user’s manual and give training to the Secretariat staff to enable them to update the website regularly and a well-documented source code should be handed over to the Secretariat periodically.
Type of Contract
- Short term, for three months
- Payments will be made periodically based on a set of deliverables
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in web design, multimedia design, programming or related field
- At least three (3) years of relevant work experience in building responsive data-driven websites using React, Nodejs/Django and MySQL, PostgreSQL to support advanced features and have consistent style across platforms and browsers
- Working knowledge of web user interface design (UI)
- Proficiency with content management systems such as WordPress and Drupal
- Experience in WordPress is required for being able to upgrade existing website or migrate current data
- Dedication to create innovative and sophisticated designs
- Fluency in spoken and written English and Amharic is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience implementing and using modern web development workflows and operations using git, including GitHub
