Job Description

Byucksan Power Co., Ltd is a South Korean Consulting Company that is now working on different Electrical projects with Ethiopian Electrical Power (EEP) and Ethiopian Electrical Utility (EEU). We would like to hire highly qualified professionals in the following fields for our projects.

Job Requirements

Qualification

  • Have a degree in Civil engineering
  • Have preferably 4 years of experience working in development of transmission lines, substations, and grid systems, preferably transmission lien and substation sector.
  • Experience in Africa and sub-Saharan environment are desired.
  • As a practicing engineer, the expert must be proficient in identification, analyses and resolution of problems and effective planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling, and monitoring of project activities.
  • Should spend at least 70% of time in Africa field.

Job Requirements

  • The engineer must be highly qualified for design, supervision, and implementation of the project, and for that purpose should submit evidence of previous experience in works associated with design, supervision, and construction management of similar nature (experience in construction of new power transmission-substation projects) and specifically of projects located in Africa.
  • All supervision staff should have adequate experience similar to the Project area. In addition, it is required that all field personnel be proficient in international communication skills.
  • All Project site supervision and design key staff should have not less than 4 years of experience in similar Projects.
  • Be responsible for civil engineering including detailed design for 230kV transmission lines and 400kV substations.
  • Plan, designed and oversee the construction, installation, operation, and maintenance of electric components systems, and facilities using 230kV transmission lines and 400kV substations.
  • Assist in diagnostic testing of components and systems, and engineering studies.
  • Review and confirm the structural design of foundations and structures for transmission and substation systems including physical layouts, structural/site layouts, and associated civil calculations.
  • Confirm that the design package complies with applicable transmission & substation engineering design standards and all safety codes
  • Ensure all transmission line commissioning protocols are planned, coordinated, and duly implemented
  • Provide on-the-job training (OJT) to counterpart engineers in fields of expertise.
  • Provide input on the field of responsibility to inception, interim, draft final, and other reports.
  • Review and approve erection and construction drawings to ensure technical compliance and compatibility with specifications and other requirements.
  • Supervised, inspected, and monitoring of the civil works of the project to ensure that the works are carried out in accordance with the agreed schedules, design, and specifications and that the quality meets, at the minimum, the required standards, specifications, systems, and procedures.
  • Supervised, inspected, and monitoring of the installation and erection of the equipment and materials at the project site, and the required tests, trial operations, and the complete commissioning program described in the scope of works of the EPC contractor.
  • Any other works not sufficiently described in the scope of services but can be reasonably inferred as required and necessary to be undertaken to complete the project are presumed included in the scope of works of the contractor.
